Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is “ maybe not obsessed” by individual trophies, having missed on this year’ s Ballon d’ Or after winning it five times.
The Juventus striker also missed out on FIFA and UEFA’ s player of the year trophies as former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric, a World Cup runner-up with Croatia, swept all just before him.
“ I’ m not obsessed by person prizes, ” Ronaldo told Colonial sports daily Record.
“ The most important thing is to win group trophies and help the group. The rest comes naturally. ”
Ronaldo added: “ I actually don’ t think all the time associated with beating records. I work most importantly to help the club and be inside my best level.
“ The technical, tactical and bodily level of all teams is better nowadays, ” he said. “ It’ s increasingly tough to win and so i have to keep working hard to stay at the top. ”
Having skipped the start of Portugal’ s Nations Little league campaign to better adjust to life along with Juve, Ronaldo said that in 2019 he “ envisages being at the particular disposal of the national coach”.
Portugal will host the particular inaugural Nations League finals within June, meeting Switzerland in the semi-finals.
