Ondo aggrieved senatorial aspirants told Oshiomole to Resign now or face our wrath

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole has been provided a 24-hour ultimatum to reverse the”purported” screening of three senatorial aspirants from the state or resign from office.

The ultimatum was awarded by one of those aspirants, who had been screened out from the NWC, Dr. Tunji Abayomi in a press briefing in Akure, the Ondo State capital, jointly with additional affected aspirants.

Abayomi, aspiring to represent Ondo North Senatorial District at National Assembly stated that Oshiomhole isn’t fit and proper to lead the party going by what he described as”audacious impunity” by the federal chairman with regard the screening.

He maintained that the process has been orchestrated to disenfranchise members of this celebration from electing their preferred candidates since the NWC never stumbled upon screen any one of the aspirants.

“If he succeeded as Governor, clearly he’s failed tremendously as National Chairman of the party.

“The tragedy is that he had been elected to decrease the crisis of the party but he has assumed the position to raise the catastrophe.

“In order to not kill the APC, please, Mr. Adam Osohiomhole resign now, it would be wrong to underestimate the nature of those of Ondo state.

“Mr. Oshiomhole whined to the people and there was no NWC that sat, and when there was one, then he must give us the moments of the assembly.

“He should give us the time the assembly was held and the conclusions that has been taken and with numbers of voters for what he has set out.”

Additionally one of the aspirants, Sen. Tayo Alasoadura representing Ondo Central Senatorial District said”It is a fact that the National Working Committee didn’t meet to discuss any matter regarding the screening of applicants, let alone have a decision on same. In consequence, the representation is untrue and unfortunate.

“We are unaware of some provisions, either at the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended or the constitution of the All Progressives Congress, empowering the Chairman of this party or some other officer to abridge or deny the rights of their members to hope to function and of those to elect people that represent them.

“More disturbing is that the increasingly impunity connected with the direction of their party under Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. There has been a high level of inconsistent standards applied across countries of the Federation. There have been direct and embarrassing violation of both the constitution of Nigeria and of APC. We also observed manifest unjust and unjustified preferential treatment of particular categories of aspirants and political tendencies.”
