NNPC reacts as filling stations market petrol above N145

Group Managing Movie director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, provides urged Nigerians to report any kind of filling station selling petrol over the official pump price of N145 for each litre.

Baru provided the charge in a statement agreed upon by the NNPC Spokesman, Mr Ndi Ughamadu, in Abuja, on Mon.

He said reviews of those violating the rules should be channeled to Department of Petroleum Assets (DPR) for adequate sanctions to become metted on them.

This individual reiterated that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure steady supply plus distribution of petroleum products across the nation.

“ We have emplaced adequate arrangements to guarantee steady items supply across the country to meet consumers’ requirement in the New Year and outside of.

“ Motorists along with other consumers of petroleum products must not engage in panic buying, the corporation retains a stock of 30 billion lt of petrol and 90, 500 metric tonnes of kerosene.

“ This is expected to final 60 days, assuming no fresh consignment is added, ” he stated.

He further admonished communities hosting the corporation’ t facilities, such as pipelines, pump channels, among others, to restrain their wards from tampering with the national property to guard against fire incidents.

Instances of which he observed, were recorded in some parts of the country in recent years due to the unwholesome acts of many people in the communities.

The particular GMD also felicitated with Nigerians from all walks of lifetime on the occasion of the New Yr and wished all a memorable and prosperous year ahead.
