The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization, PPCO, on Thursday accused President Muhammadu Buhari of plotting to rig the 2019 election “ along with illegal polling centers from Chad and Niger”.
PDP made the allegation while condemning the alleged plot by the Impartial National Electoral Commission, INEC, as well as the “ Buhari Presidency to create unlawful polling centers in Chad plus Niger Republic. ”
PPCO described the alleged storyline by “ INEC and Chief executive Buhari to secretly create polling centers outside the shores of our nation, in total violation of the 1999 Metabolism (as amended), as inexcusably lawbreaker and exposes part of the plot in order to corrupt our electoral system plus massively rig for President Buhari. ”
In a declaration signed by PDP’ s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PPCO mentioned both “ President Buhari, INEC and all Nigerians know that there are simply no provisions for Diaspora voting below our system. By the extant laws leading elections in Nigeria, it is very apparent who is eligible to vote, as well as the facilities statutorily designated for elections. There is absolutely no provision for any special arrangement in any way.
“ It is therefore reprehensible that President Buhari, in his frustration to rig the elections, is currently trying to hide under the guise of creating special provision for Internally Out of place Persons IDPs, outside the country, in order to illegally create rigging centers outdoors our country and import artificial figures into the election results.
“ This clandestine agreement further validates the alarm previously raised by the PDP, in 04 this year, of INEC’ s story to secretly create 30, 500 illegal polling centers in some remote control areas, through which they plan to budget for millions of votes to President Buhari and the APC.
“ Nigerians can now see that the THIS and its candidate are not committed to tranquil, credible, free and fair selection. Having realized that there is no way he is able to win in a peaceful and reputable election, Mr. President is now looking for means to enmesh the 2019 polls in a constitutional crisis, public dilemma and trigger an imminent assault that is capable of derailing our whole democratic process.
“ Moreover, by seeking to open polling units outside the country, the Buhari administration has now agreed that it does not need full control of Nigerian territory plus cannot provide security for Nigerians to freely participate in the polls.
“ If Leader Buhari is in any way inclined toward diaspora voting, he should deliver an appropriate bill to the National Set up for approval to accommodate not only Nigerians in Chad and Niger Republic, but also those in other sub-Sahara nations as well as Europe, America and other areas of the world, who have been agitating for Diaspora voting.
“ All of us caution the Buhari Presidency plus INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, not to set our country burning down by engaging in provocative actions inside a desperation to rig 2019 Usa president election for President Buhari. ”
