2019: Another Presidential candidate signs peacefulness accord, calls for total elimination associated with election violence

The Presidential candidate of the Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria (GDPN), Dr . Davidson Isibor Akhimien, upon Thursday signed peace accord in the Matthew Hassan Kukah Centre, Abuja.

Speaking at the wedding ceremony, Akhimien, a former military Chief famous the National Peace Committee, saying the his commitment to serenity, before, during and after the political election was in the interest of national oneness.

He said the particular initiative will eliminate violence that is a recurrence during elections.

“ Peacefulness accord is a very good Initiative from the National Peace Committee because President candidates and political parties should commit to ensuring free, fair, plus credible elections. ”

“ More especially, violence must be completely eliminated from our electoral process. ”

Akhimien pointed that will African countries have challenges within growing their democracies, stating the amended electoral bill, which Chief executive Buhari declined assent was not healthful for the nation.

“ It’ s not in great taste that Buhari declined assent to electoral amendment bill. It’ s one of the challenges to Africa democratic transitions and consolidations. Nigeria should not be part of that malaise”, he or she stated.

This individual called on President Buhari to become committed to free, fair and reputable elections, noting that his precursor, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan ensured the conducive atmosphere for his introduction in 2015.
